Current Scratch: Join Us, Publishing Buzz, Opportunities, & Statewide

Howdy, folks!! Autumn is just around the corner. Can you feel it in the air? No? Well, just wait. It'll happen. Hope all your projects are falling into place!

Our next Schmooze: Know the difference between author voice and character voice? Join the discussion on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 10 a.m. in the College Station Barnes & Noble. A brief summary of news from the SCBWI Summer Conference will follow. Those who have time will go out to lunch as well. Come early for gentle critique starting at 9:30 a.m. Bring 5 copies of 5 double-spaced pages to share.

Save the Date! Nov. 8 Day with an Agent--Jodell Sadler

Join us in College Station for a day-long intensive on pacing for picture books and novels with agent Jodell Sadler of Sadler Literary. Registration fees, critique details, and hotel information will be announced soon. Stay tuned, and check the events page at brazosvalley.scbwi.org.
