Historical Resources

Article about historical fiction from Chris Cheng.  Chris is a fine children's writer and great friend of SCBWI. He is also an international consultants for a new e-journal, First Opinions, Second Reaction, that comes from Purdue University reviewing contemporary children's and young adult literature through various thematic and contextual lenses.

National Curriculum Stanadards for Social Studies offers curriculum standards adopted by many schools. Check out his resource to increase your work's relevancy in schools

Award for children's New World history writers -- Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction -- historical fiction set in the New World (North, South, or Central America) is celebrated by this award.

Read historical fiction for teens? Here's a good resource.
